Hidden Cameras – What Are They Used For?

Everyone knows what a hidden camera is and most people know what they are used for. However, there are a lot of people that never even think about whether they are being watched or not because they are not doing anything wrong. There are a lot of uses for hidden cameras but not all of them are for good reasons. Let me explain.

Do you know what a hidden camera is? They are covert camera devices that are used for surveillance in a particular area. They are installed in hidden places where they can be disguised so no one knows that they are being watched. The camera will keep a continuous record of images that are in the field of vision for the camera. These images can then be seen on a computer or a TV monitor when they are needed.

The main reason for a hidden camera is for security purposes. The places that usually use these cameras are businesses such as department stores, banks, hospitals, airports, casinos, etc. The cameras are constantly watched by an employee of the business that is using them. They are watched over a monitor that they are connected to that is usually in a security cabin or security office. There can be more than one camera hooked into the same monitor which forms what is known as a CCTV network. This is the most popular security device that is used because they cover more than one small area of the place being watched.

Another use for hidden cameras is in homes of individuals or families. These are known as spy cams or nanny cams. They are installed and hidden in a place that can’t be easily detected. They are used usually to watch over a child’s nanny or a caretaker for senior citizens. This is a good way for people to make sure that their loved ones are safe and not being abused.

It wasn’t always so easy to use hidden cameras because they were much too big. However, these days you can get cameras that are so small that they can be disguised as a shirt button. The most important part of any camera is the lens. You want to make sure that the lens is kept clear and nothing is blocking it. You won’t be able to see anything if the lens is not free to record what it needs to.

There are a lot of people who think that hidden cameras are an invasion of privacy and sometimes they are. For example, when they are used in bathrooms or hotel rooms they are considered an invasion of privacy. However, they are mainly used for the prevention of crime and for security purposes. These cameras are used for good more than they are for bad reasons.
